Unfortunately though, that long-loved tradition is also the cause of tons of hand and wrist-related injuries each year. In fact, Thanksgiving sits near the top of the list of dangerous holidays thanks to hazards like these.

Avoiding Halloween Hazards

Unfortunately though, bulky costumes and pumpkin carving catastrophes make it a little more hazardous than you might think.

According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, in 2013, finger and hand injuries accounted for over 17 percent of Halloween wounds – most of which, 30.3 percent, were suffered by kids aged 10-14. Breaks and fractures sustained from falls and ill-fitting Halloween costumes are another big culprit of Halloween disasters.

There are plenty of at-home therapies that can provide temporary relief for rheumatoid arthritis. Warm baths and heating pads can help soothe sore, inflamed joints, and light exercise can keep those joints lubricated, which can reduce and even prevent pain.
