Losing weight may be one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions – and also one of the toughest to keep. But getting to and maintaining a healthy weight offers more benefits than simply fitting into those skinny jeans (although that is a plus!).
Carrying around too much weight is damaging to nearly every system in our bodies – affecting how well we sleep, how fast we’re able to recover from illness, and, if we’re living with the pain of a chronic condition or injury, that extra weight can make you feel worse and slow down your ability to heal.
