Avoiding Halloween Hazards

Atlanta GA Physical Therapy & RehabilitationAside from making sure to check your child’s bag of candy before letting them eat it, you might not consider Halloween to have many dangers. Unfortunately though, bulky costumes and pumpkin carving catastrophes make it a little more hazardous than you might think.

According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, in 2013, finger and hand injuries accounted for over 17 percent of Halloween wounds – most of which, 30.3 percent, were suffered by kids aged 10-14. Breaks and fractures sustained from falls and ill-fitting Halloween costumes are another big culprit of Halloween disasters.
