Isn’t it great having our very own soccer team in Atlanta? Have you been to one of the Atlanta United FC games yet in the Bobby Dobb stadium? Who’s your favorite player? It will be so fun to cheer them on in their new stadium.
Soccer has been around for years. It’s an international sport played and watched around the world. The United States is the only place that calls soccer, ‘soccer.’ However, it’s all the same game as futbol.
Take a deep breath. Can you smell it? It’s spring! Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping and everyone is getting outside doing the activities they love most. Whether your favorite outdoor activity is tennis, soccer, or just a stroll around the neighborhood, all of these can have the unfortunate accident happen. Anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, injuries are painful and debilitating, and can be an unfortunate outcome of playing some of your favorite summer sports. They occur when the ACL ligament in the knee is over-stretched and tears, causing swelling and an inability to walk or continue your normal activities.
Surgery is often required for severe ACL tears, and whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend warrior, this can be scary to consider. How long will it take me to recover? Will I be able to return to the field, track, or court again?
