Isn’t it great having our very own soccer team in Atlanta? Have you been to one of the Atlanta United FC games yet in the Bobby Dobb stadium? Who’s your favorite player? It will be so fun to cheer them on in their new stadium.
Soccer has been around for years. It’s an international sport played and watched around the world. The United States is the only place that calls soccer, ‘soccer.’ However, it’s all the same game as futbol.
The medial collateral ligament (MCL) is a wide, thick band of connective tissue that runs down the inner part of the knee from the thighbone to the shinbone about four to six inches below the knee. The main function of the MCL is to prevent the leg from extending too far inward, keeping the knee stable, and allowing it to rotate. Damage to the medial collateral ligament will result in pain, stiffness, swelling, tenderness, and a feeling that the knee will give way under the pressure of standing or walking. At Sovereign Rehabilitation our trained and licensed physical therapists can help patients with an MCL injury find relief from their symptoms so that they can return to an active lifestyle.
