Frozen Shoulder

Atlanta Frozen Shoulder TreatmentFrozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is a condition that is characterized by stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. People who are recovering from a medical condition or procedure that affects the mobility of the arm have an increased risk for developing frozen shoulder. Here at Sovereign Rehabilitation, we can provide treatment to provide more fluid mobility and reduce the pain that you may be suffering.

At Sovereign Rehabilitation, all of our physical and occupational therapists are licensed to help patients find a better quality of life through physical therapy, manual therapy, aquatic therapy, muscle energy techniques and more. All of our locations feature state-of-the-art facilities and we specialize in helping patients with frozen shoulder achieve long term pain relief.

Frozen shoulder typically develops slowly and in three stages that can each last months at a time. The painful stage is when there is pain that occurs with any movement of the shoulder and there is noticed limited movement. The Frozen Stage follows where the pain may begin to diminish but the shoulder becomes stiffer and you have a far less range of motion. The Thawing stage is last, but this is when the shoulder begins to improve. While these stages occur and can balance themselves out to where a person can find relief after the thawing stage is over — many people simply do not have months and months to wait to find relief.
