Atlanta GA Physical Therapy for HandsSovereign Rehabilitation offers effective treatment for your hand injuries. We are the Atlanta hand therapy experts and we will help you accurately assess your problem and get immediate care so we can get you a speedy recovery. We offer a wide range of therapeutic procedures for you, according to your specific needs.

To help strengthen your hand and grip there are several exercises you can do at home.

  1. Press – You need to maintain the strength of each finger. Activities such as holding or picking up small or large objects require finger strength. You can strengthen your fingers by pressing your thumb to each fingertip for approximately five seconds each. You can do this one or two times a day.
  2. Squeeze – You need to maintain the strength of your fingers so you can grip objects. This helps you open jars, hold cups and open car doors. You can strengthen your grip by getting a ball (such as a tennis ball) that fits in the palm of your hand. Squeeze the ball 10 times about three to five seconds each. This can be repeated two to three times a day.
  3. Stretch – Put your hand (palm down) on a flat surface. Slowly straighten your fingers so they are flat against the surface. Hold this for 30 to 60 seconds and then release. You can repeat this several times with each hand.
