With a career spanning more than 30 years, Alan Grodin, president and founder of Sovereign, is one of the pre-eminent physical therapists in greater Atlanta. He is recognized as a master clinician, author, teacher, and innovator.

Through Sovereign, Alan has realized his personal vision for a truly patient-centered PT practice. Sovereign combines advanced rehabilitation services with a commitment to meet the individual needs of every person we treat. This commitment includes patient education, coordinating care with the patient’s physician, and addressing both the short and long-term goals of treatment.

The results of this approach are highly favorable outcomes and the overwhelmingly positive experience of Sovereign patients.

Sovereign’s success is reflected in the quality of the leadership team working with Alan across the practice. In addition to vice president Jill Jacobs, the team consists of seven clinic managers, each representing a different Sovereign location:

    Clinic Manager - Decatur
    Licensed physical therapist Aaron Schauble, MPT, is Clinic Manager for SR's Decatur location. He is responsible for building the Decatur clinic, providing patients and providers alike with a physical therapy resource dedicated to clinical and patient service excellence. Read more
  • Alan Grodin, PT, MTC
    Founder and President
    With a career spanning more than 30 years, Alan Grodin is a leading physical therapist and developer of successful PT practices in Georgia and other states. Nationally recognized as a master clinician, Alan is extensively published and has created and taught continuing education courses throughout the United States as well as in Japan, Chile, Iceland, and Canada. He is a faculty member of the Physical Therapy Department of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (St. Augustine, Florida), where he has been teaching since 1982. Read more
  • Dale Alderman, PT
    Clinic Manager - Lawrenceville
    Licensed physical therapist Dale Alderman,PT, DPT is the Clinic Manager for SR's Lawrenceville location. He is responsible for building the Lawrenceville clinic, providing patients and providers alike with a physical therapy resource dedicated to clinical and patient service excellence. Dale joined Sovereign Rehabilitation in 2010 as a staff therapist and was promoted to Clinic Manager in 2014. Read more
  • Elise Foppe
    Clinic Manager - Cumming
    Elise has recently joined Sovereign as clinic manager for our Cumming facility. She brings 3 years of experience, covering multiple areas of specialization and expertise. These areas include sports medicine, orthopedic dysfunctions of the cervical and lumbar spine and the extremities, and manual therapy techniques such as dry needling, manipulation, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, and cupping.   • Elizabeth Lane-Billeter
    Elizabeth Lane-Billeter, PT, DPT
    Clinic Manager - Dunwoody
    Elizabeth is responsible for providing clinical excellence for patients and providers alike while overseeing daily clinic operations. Liz's expertise includes treating patients with orthopedic dysfunctions at the shoulder, hip, knee, and foot as well as spine dysfunctions. She is also excited to work with patients with balance and other neurogenic impairments. Read more

    Chief Operating Officer
    A physical therapist for nearly 30 years, Jill Jacobs has played a key role in developing and managing physical therapy organizations, leveraging her ability to build strong relationships with patients, providers, and therapists. Read more
  • Kelly Conley
    Clinic Manager - Hapeville
    Dr. Kelly Conley is clinic manager at SR’s Hapeville location. She has been treating patients with orthopedic and pelvic diagnoses since 2000. She received her entry level Physical Therapy degree from Cleveland State University and her advanced Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A.T. Still University. She is a board certified Orthopedic Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has advanced training through the APTA in pelvic pain and incontinence dysfunctions in women's and men's health.   • Lucia Quintal
    Clinic Manager - Conyers
    Lucia has practiced as a licensed physical therapist since 1976. Her first 18 years in the field were spent in Brazil, where she earned her degree in physical therapy from Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Campinas. Lucia has extensive background in neurological physical therapy and is NDT trainee since 1978 and has special interest in vestibular disorders. Lucia is an accomplished clinician. She brings with her more than more than 25 years of experience in a wide variety of conditions. Read more
  • Rob Maresca
    Clinic Manager - East Cobb
    Rob Maresca has been practicing physical therapy in the metro Atlanta area since 2008 after receiving his doctorate in physical therapy from Georgia State University. He completed his residency training in orthopedics and became a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist in 2011. Rob has also been a long-time member of both the American Physical Therapy Association and the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. Read more
  • Ryan W. Belmore
    Clinic Manager - Snellville
    Ryan is clinic manager for Sovereign’s Snellville location. He graduated from the University of Florida with a doctorate in physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology, as well as Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Ryan takes special interest in the mechanisms and treatment of chronic pain (particularly in the neck, low back, and lower extremities) and has completed advanced training in dry needling. He is also experienced in the evaluation and treatment of vestibular, balance, and vertigo conditions. Read more
  • Tammy Petty
    Clinic Manager - Loganville
    Tammy is a licensed physical therapist and is responsible for providing leadership in the Loganville Clinic. Tammy brings 26 years of experience as a physical therapist to Sovereign. She received her degree from Georgia State University. Tammy has worked in multiple settings; this gives her a broad range of patient care experience. Her expertise includes treating patients with orthopedic dysfunctions at the shoulder, hip, knee and foot as well as spine. Read more

All Clinic Managers have outstanding credentials and experience, and they continue to treat patients and maintain their own caseloads (as does Alan). They see that the latest services and “best practices” are always available to Sovereign patients. (To cite one example: our use of the groundbreaking Schroth Method to help those suffering with idiopathic scoliosis.)
